Projects:

Project Resilience Training (PRT)

Project Resilience Training (PRT) is a comprehensive program aimed at equipping first responders and medical personnel with essential skills to enhance their mental resilience. Through workshops, training sessions, and online resources, PRT empowers these heroes to better cope with the unique challenges they face daily. By building emotional resilience and providing tools for stress management, PRT contributes to the mental well-being of those who serve our communities.

Peer Support Networks

Recognizing the importance of peer support, SoHi Private Foundation facilitates the creation of peer-led support networks within fire departments, police precincts, and medical facilities. These networks provide a safe space for first responders and medical workers to connect with colleagues who understand their experiences. Sharing stories, offering guidance, and seeking peer advice can significantly improve mental well-being.

Animal-Assisted Therapy (AAT) in Collaboration with BARC-NY

SoHi Private Foundation collaborates with BARC-NY, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, to introduce Animal-Assisted Therapy (AAT) programs. Rescue animals are paired with first responders and medical personnel, creating opportunities for emotional healing and stress reduction. Interactions with animals promote relaxation, empathy, and connection, contributing to improved mental health.

Mental Health Awareness Campaigns

SoHi Private Foundation launches public awareness campaigns to break the stigma surrounding mental health in first responder and medical communities. These campaigns encourage open conversations, share personal stories of resilience, and provide information about available resources, including SoHi-NY.

Telehealth Counseling Services

SoHi Private Foundation partners with licensed mental health professionals to offer confidential telehealth counseling services. First responders and medical personnel can access therapy sessions, support groups, and crisis interventions through secure online platforms. This project ensures that help is just a click away, reducing barriers to seeking mental health support.

Community Wellness Workshops

The foundation hosts community wellness workshops that cover various topics, such as mindfulness, self-care, and stress reduction. These workshops are open to both first responders and the general public, fostering a sense of community and encouraging proactive mental health practices.

These projects collectively form the foundation's commitment to improving the mental health and well-being of those who dedicate their lives to serving others. Through innovation, collaboration, and unwavering support, SoHi Private Foundation strives to make a lasting positive impact on the mental health of our heroes.
